FORMER Fremantle forward Shane Yarran has been found dead in a Perth home.

Police this afternoon attended an address believed to be his home, where it is believed the 28-year-old was found.

A report will be prepared for the State Coroner, but police are not treating the death as suspicious.

Yarran rose to prominence at Subiaco in 2014, a year after being released from jail after serving a six-year burglary sentence.

The forward kicked 39 goals in his first season at the Lions, then 54 the next year to catch the attention of AFL scouts.

He won two WAFL premierships in his two seasons at Subiaco, then added a third at Peel while on Fremantle’s list in 2016.

The young father retired from AFL after one year at the Dockers following further legal troubles.

He had recently been attempting to get his football back on track, training with Subiaco and playing in the WAAFL for Gosnells.
