ESSENDON has apologised to Jobe Watson and his family for the position it put the star midfielder in that lead to him handing back his Brownlow Medal.
Watson on Friday officially handed his Medal back to the AFL after he was banned for 12 months following the Bombers’ supplements saga.

Bombers chairman Lindsay Tanner released the following statement on Watson’s decision soon after his decision was made public: “Jobe has remained unassailably dignified under the most extraordinary pressure over the past four years,” Tanner said.
“The club takes responsibility for placing Jobe in this position and unreservedly apologises to him and his family.
“Jobe is a person of the highest integrity and character and has the total support and admiration of our membership, staff, executive and board.
“The Essendon family has been, and will continue to be, incredibly proud of Jobe Watson.”
