FROM the moment Adam Treloar chose Collingwood over Richmond, tension has been simmering.
It started with the former GWS midfielder’s comments in November that the Pies have a better list than the Tigers and it seems no one has forgotten.
The tension reached boiling point on Friday night at the MCG and even impacted Tigers captain Trent Cotchin, who usually displays a cool head rarely seen partaking in the antics of sledging.

That changed in the thriller on Friday night.
Essendon champion and media special comments man Matthew Lloyd said he spotted Cotchin make a point to Treloar after the Tigers led by 17 points late in the final term.
You can bet your house that the Richmond skipper was reminding Treloar of his comments as his Tigers headed for victory.
But Treloar had the last laugh.
In just his second game in black and white, Treloar was booed by Richmond supporters for every one of his 32 disposals, but he played a key role in Collingwood’s comeback and eventual victory in dramatic circumstances.
And he returned fire to Cotchin after the siren.
As Collingwood players celebrated, Treloar found his way to Cotchin. We’re not lip readers but we’re pretty sure he said something along the lines of: “You went a bit early.”
And he proceeded to pat the Tigers No. 9 on the head.
We look forward to the rematch in Round 20.
