Collingwood fans can breathe a sigh of relief with the club confirming Jordan De Goey has dodged a serious injury.
The forward had to be helped from the field by trainers after suffering what appeared to be an ankle injury at pre-season training on Friday.
After subsequent scans, the 22-year-old has been cleared of damage to the left ankle joint and ligaments.

However, he will be sidelined with a mid-foot sprain.
He will have his ankle in a moon boot for the next seven days and will be kept from weight-bearing activity during that time.
“After that, we should be able to determine how and when Jordy returns to the program,” Collingwood general manager of football Geoff Walsh said.
“He has escaped serious damage to the joint, which is the first thing.
“We’ll let it settle and make the appropriate calls, in terms of rehab and a timeline, once he is back on the foot.”

Meanwhile, a shattered Lin Jong is expected to miss at least the next two months of football after suffering a hamstring injury at Western Bulldogs training on Thursday.
Jong was removed from the Dogs’ match simulation session at VU Whitten Oval, with scans later revealing a high-grade hamstring tear.
Jong had been one of the standouts throughout the Dogs’ pre-season.
First year defender Buku Khamis is also set for a stint on the sidelines after he injured his knee in Thursday’s session.
Khamis strained his posterior cruciate ligament in a marking contest, and is expected to return to playing in 6-8 weeks.
