Draft Day is almost here.
One of the biggest dates in the SuperCoach calendar will be held around the country as coaches take part in their own SuperCoach Drafts.
It’s arguably the most exciting way to play Australia’s biggest fantasy game – join a league with your mates – or join any available public league – and select a unique SuperCoach team through a live draft where each player is only available once.
You can then trade players with other teams throughout the season, and pick up any undrafted player from the free agency pool as you go.
League settings – number of teams, squad size, trading and free agency options, game play and draft type, just to name a few – are totally customisable, allowing you to set up your competition your own way.
To help you pick the right players in your side, our experts have ranked their top players in every position to come up with the 2025 consensus SuperCoach Draft rankings. We asked for their rankings in January – and a lot has changed since then.

LEK SAYS: There are plenty of great defensive options available in SuperCoach Drafts, and you could feel pretty good about having any of my top 13 as your D1. I like the upside of players like Matt Roberts and Trent Rivers, I despise the downside of players like James Sicily and Jeremy McGovern.
AL SAYS: I could see Sheezel going in the top five overall, but there are plenty more really good picks – I really like Dan Houston’s prospects but can’t get him higher than 10. Jack Sinclair is out of calculations for classic but I’d still be rapt to get him in draft, and I’m backing in James Sicily’s upside.
TIM SAYS: : Sam Flanders is the big slider after an interrupted pre-season. Still, you might get a bargain if he’s good to go after a few rounds and slides into the later rounds of your draft. Harry Perryman, Trent Rivers and Sam De Koning are my bolters, while I’m very big on Max Holmes.
DOS SAYS: Staying firm on Flanders until I hear he’s definitely missing time, but will hit abort if I get clarity before draft day! I’m loving NAS this year as a top-five defender, while I’ll happily take the punt on a role change with guys like Duggan, Rivers, and Perryman slated for more midfield time.
PATCH SAYS: Sam Flanders is my big backline slider after injury put his round 1 hopes in doubt, but there hasn’t been too much other adjustment in the backline.
LEK SAYS: Butters and Green get a slight bump down the rankings each due to pre-season injuries but will still both be great options. Andrew Brayshaw rises every time I look at my rankings and I’ve seen him go in the back end of the first round or even the second round in drafts.
AL SAYS: I made a bold call to put Zak Butters at No.1 in January – so much for that idea. Now I’m back to playing it safe with the Bont, and I’ve moved Isaac Heeney right up the order. I thought he would play more forward with Callum Mills in the midfield, but injuries have put an end to that as well (if it was ever happening in the first place).
TIM SAYS: Had to bump Hayden Young back from 15 to 25 due to injury concerns but I didn’t enjoy doing it. Jordan Dawson seems to be flying so I’ve moved him into the top 10, while Clayton Oliver has gone from 30th to 8th. Tom Green was another big slider after his calf injury.
DOS SAYS: No major surprises up the pointy end aside from my own self restraint (as an Eagles nuff) to not put Harley Reid in the top 10. Watch out for a Jordan Dawson bounce-back and Noah Anderson to go to new heights. Tom Green cops a hit due to injury, and I personally won’t be drafting Zak Butters unless we hear news of a timeline for return before draft day.
PATCH SAYS: Lachie Neale the Choccy Wheel has slid for me after an injury-interrupted pre-season, while some injury-hit players like Adam Treloar have slid out, but otherwise pretty standard. I might have Clayton Oliver a bit higher than others but think he’s real good this season.
LEK SAYS: I’m all in on Darcy Cameron and he could end up being the third best ruckman for 2025. Don’t reach on Tom De Koning, he’ll be good but Marc Pittonet WILL return under Vossy..
AL SAYS: I just have a feeling Max Gawn will make SuperCoaches pay for overlooking him in favour of Tristan Xerri. I’ve got Rowan Marshall very high in my ranks, if he’s fit he’s still the No.1 man at the Saints.
TIM SAYS: I would be happy ending up with any of the top 10 rucks I’ve listed. Xerri is the clear standout followed by Gawn and De Koning, especially now Marc Pittonet is injured. I was reluctant to put Sean Darcy any higher knowing he’ll start the year injured and has a history of breaking down.
DOS SAYS: I haven’t moved TDK since my original rankings. News of Pittonet’s injury confirms the decision, but I understand it’s a bold call on draft day. I quite like the value of Briggs and Witts if you’re looking for a ruck later on in drafts – and wouldn’t be opposed to handcuffing Sean Darcy with Liam Reidy in the early goings.
PATCH SAYS: I reckon you’d be happy with any ruck on this list and if you’re in a 12-team draft or less do not sweat the rucks unless you can nab Xerri or Gawn in the pick 3-5 range. Leave ’em until late as possible, and if you end up with Reilly O’Brien but an extra gun midfielder you’re laughing.
LEK SAYS: The forwards do run deeper than I anticipated but you still want to target a Simpkin or Baker as a minimum at F1. The top six forwards will go very early in drafts but don’t feel pressured to reach for them, you can find value late in this position.
AL SAYS: I punted forwards in a recent draft and that was a mistake – as much as I love Maurice Rioli Jr he isn’t who you want at F4. There aren’t many good forwards and they were all gone in the first few rounds. My strategy next time will be to try to get one of the top half dozen here, then you can wait and have some fun (??) in later rounds.
TIM SAYS: Caleb Daniel is unsurprisingly racking up footy for fun in North Melbourne’s backline, so I’ve thrown him in at No.1 ahead of Horne-Francis. There’s just no better role in SuperCoach than playing in the Roos defence. I’ve dropped Bailey Smith back a few spots and have included Jy Simpkin, who seems to be airborne this pre-season.
DOS SAYS: The Horney ONE at F1 and the superior Bailey (Humphrey) are in for big seasons, but Sam Darcy is my big call to go BANG in SuperCoach Draft this year. But while I’ve got him sixth overall in my personal forward rankings, I think you’ll be able to snaffle him up at value in the middle rounds on draft day. Good luck!
PATCH SAYS: Caleb Daniel has bolted up my rankings for forwards, while Luke Jackson has slid slightly. I haven’t bumped too many guys around because there just aren’t other contenders for the top 30. Make sure you get at least one early.
