The Barometer: Every club’s injury list after Round 23
Kane Cornes says Collingwood should put a line through Darcy Moore and Nathan Buckley isn’t so sure if their defender will return from his latest setback.

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley admits he is “not confident at all” Darcy Moore can shake off another hamstring injury to play finals.
Moore had taken six weeks to get his hamstring right from a tear against West Coast in Round 17, but failed to get through his comeback game on Friday night against Essendon.
Buckley’s lack of confidence comes as Kane Cornes insisted Moore’s body couldn’t be trusted.
“We really don’t know where it’s going to settle and when you don’t complete the game it doesn’t augur that well,” Buckley told 3AW.
“But at the same time the initial reports were that it’s not major. But when you put a couple of recurrences together it becomes major.
“There’s no real clarity or definitive outcome on what we can expect from Darcy over the next month. I can’t even be clear on what, if any, injury there is on the back of last night other than he couldn’t complete the game.”
Cornes said Moore’s body had now let him down to such an extent that he would be a liability come finals and that the Pies should put a line through him.
“You can’t play him now regardless of what the scans say,” Cornes told SEN.
“To risk him, Jaidyn Stephenson and Jordan de Goey in the first final, I don’t think you can do that.
“You can’t risk that (Moore) lasts half a game in the first final, with Stephenson and De Goey coming off nothing in a long time.”
Matt Scharenberg was concussed by teammate Levi Greenwood in a marking contest in the first quarter and will be assessed afterfailing to return.
Meanwhile, Essendon defender Michael Hurley suffered a shoulder injury that will threaten his finals campaign.
He came off the ground in the second quarter in visible pain after appearing to rotate uncomfortably in a marking contest.
He already has missed a month due to a shoulder injury earlier this season, although last night’s injury happened on the opposite shoulder.
The All-Australian backman cut a forlorn figure as he sat out the remainder of the match on the bench.
Coach John Worsfold said Hurley had a subluxation (partial dislocation).
“It was pretty sore, so we ruled him out of the game. We don’t know how much damage he’s done, but we haven’t ruled him out of finals,” said Worsfold.
There looked to be more carnage when Aaron Francis came to the bench in the second term with what appeared to be an ankle injury.
But Francis was able to return and play the match out for Essendon.

COLLINGWOOD
All eyes will be on star defender Darcy Moore and his troublesome hamstring in the coming days.
Coach Nathan Buckley described it as “tight” with “no real signs other than that” after Friday night’s win over Essendon.
But given Moore’s long history of soft tissue injuries, you can be sure he will be off for scans at the earliest possible time.
Defender Matthew Scharenberg suffered a concussion, but he should be right for Collingwood’s first final given next weekend’s bye.
Forward Josh Thomas (knee) had a scare late in the match but Buckley believed he had escaped injury.
Expect to see star Jordan De Goey (hamstring) return for the first final, while the suspended Jaidyn Stephenson will also be back.

ESSENDON
The Bombers are banking on captain Dyson Heppell, forwards Jake Stringer and Orazio Fantasia and swingman Cale Hooker all being available to return for their elimination final.
However, defender Michael Hurley is under a major cloud, scans set to determine the severity of a shoulder injury suffered in the second quarter against Collingwood in a bitter final-round blow.
Essendon enters finals having made 18 changes in three weeks, hardly the consistency coach John Worsfold would have liked.
The Bombers have also won just one of their past four games.
Essendon will face an elimination final hoping to end a 15-year drought since its last finals win against Melbourne in 2004.
The Bombers’ best is capable of beating just about anyone, but they are a hard team to trust.
