FOOTBALL'S heroes from across the ages will be honoured at this year's Brownlow.
Images of the greats, past and present, will adorn a hero wall on the path to Crown's Palladium for the first time.
Every Brownlow medallist will have their portrait on the wall, which will be between the ballroom and the top of Crown atrium's sweeping staircase.
Football bosses said it would be a timely reminder of the AFL's greatest players before the year's champion or champions were crowned.
The feature, new to this year's count, is expected to become a regular part of proceedings in years to come.
It is one of several new initiatives that will be trialled by the AFL tonight.
The count will also devote an extra 15 minutes to the blue-carpet arrivals.
Carlton skipper Chris Judd and Sydney captain Adam Goodes are bookies' frontrunners to win this year's medal.
