After a last-minute ticket snag Melbourne Cricket Club restricted members are now able to access grand final tickets via ticketek.
Despite thousands waiting hours to get in the gates for the grand final, some seats still remained meaning restricted members were afforded the opportunity to purchase a limited number of seats from 11am onwards.
However, due to the ticketing failure, it wasn’t until around 12:15 before those tickets became available.
Restricted Melbourne Cricket Club members were given the rare chance to secure a grand final ticket after an announcement from the club this morning.

We are aware of an issue with accessing ticketing for Restricted members for this match. We are investigating the issue and will provide an update shortly regarding accessing tickets.
Still not working !!. Really disappointing. Please find another ticket provider. Ticketek should have provisions in place to deal with technical issues like this in a prompt manner. They literally have one job !!

“We are investigating the issue and will provide an update shortly regarding accessing tickets.”
It comes just days after Collingwood members had trouble with the Ticketek system and priority ticketing.
How lucky members could still get a GF ticket
Restricted MCC members will be eagerly awaiting a Saturday morning text on whether they can gain access to this year’s grand final.
While club rules don’t provide access to restricted members for grand finals, should they believe the reserve will not fill up then those members will be able to purchase a ticket.
Full member fans have already begun lining up for the 8,500 unreserved spots inside the MCC.
On Saturday morning the club will monitor the queue and alert restricted members if tickets are available by 10am.
Tickets can then be purchased via Ticketek with none to be sold at the MCG.
