ALEX Fasolo is keen to remain at Collingwood despite West Coast’s interest in the dynamic marking forward.

The Collingwood forward endured a difficult year with mental health issues but still kicked 29.29 and at times looked the club’s most dangerous forward.

West Coast has flagged interest in the Pies forward, contracted until 2018, if he became available.

It is understood he has no inclination to move back home despite speculation in recent weeks about his availability.

Collingwood have also made it clear they are keen to retain him and would not consider a trade.

The Pies are desperate to boost their goal power and build a more cohesive forward line rather than strip talent from their list.

Chris Mayne will return to the Pies next year to fulfil the second season of a three-year deal despite his family’s ill feeling with his treatment at the Pies.

Eagles football manager Craig Vozzo had told Perth radio they were keeping an eye on Fasolo.

“Alex is a really good player. He obviously plays forward and that’s an area we’re looking to improve,” Vozzo he said..

“I think he’s a contracted player, though, but if he was someone who became available we’d definitely need to consider it seriously.”

The club must make decisions on out-of-contract players Josh Hill, Tom Lamb and Sharrod Wellingham, having re-contracted Mark LeCras and Eric McKenzie.

“We’re always looking at improving our list,” Vozzo said.

“Obviously we’d love another A-grade midfielder – they’re very difficult to get – and a small forward as well.

“If we thought we could get the right player we’d look at the best way we could to achieve that for our footy club.”
