The capital of Monte Carlo boasts some of the world’s most exclusive real estate against a backdrop of sights from Hollywood films, overlooking a harbour brimming with lavish mega yachts.
So, just how much does it cost to get a slice of the real estate action in one of the wealthiest and most expensive places in the world?
Monaco real estate agents La Costa have a “spacious” three-bedroom apartment listed in the Port district for a whopping $38.3m.
For that price, the 290sqm apartment offers panoramic views, including an outlook over the iconic Formula 1 circuit.
“Unique – large flat in very good condition,” the estate agent’s spiel reads.
“It offers plenty of natural light and a large corner terrace with superb views over the port, the sea and the Grand Prix Formula 1 circuit.
“It comprises a double living room, a large separate fully-equipped kitchen, three bedrooms, a bathroom, a shower room, plenty of storage space and a guest toilet.
“The flat is located on a high floor in a building with security service. Sold with a cellar and a large double garage.”
Alternatively, a 164sqm two-bedroom apartment “between the casino and the sea” in the Carre D’or district will set you back $25m and will also offer Monaco luxuries and a view of the Formula 1 action.
“(It) is located in an exclusive residence with 24/7 security, gym, large swimming pool, pool house and bar,” the agents said.
“You will be able to enjoy part of the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix from this apartment’s large terrace.”
Australian F1 enthusiasts don’t need quite as much to get into the market overlooking the Grand Prix circuit at Albert Park.
Marshall White director Nicholas Hoo said three-bedroom apartments on a high level on Albert Road, which overlooks turns four, five and six, “comfortably” sold for about $3m.
“They don’t come up very often, it is really tightly held on Albert Rd for a three-bedroom,” Hoo said.
“A two-bedder on the lower floor, we just sold for $1.1m.”
Hoo said three-bedroom apartments on Queens Road, which borders the sweeping back section of the track, started at about $2m.
“For a three-bedroom, you are probably looking at $2-2.5, depending on which building it is in, some buildings are much higher, some can be $4.5m because there are heaps of buildings in Queens Rd,” Hoo said.
If the panoramic apartments with Monaco track views are out of reach, La Costa agents also have 30sqm studio apartments listed, starting at around $2.2m.
If the cheque book won’t stretch that far either, you can rent a studio apartment in Monaco from $3,400-$5,200 per calendar month, one bedroom apartments from $6,000 – $10,455 and up to $34,850 a month for a three-bedroom apartment.
