A development application for a new housing estate and parks near two scenic creeks in Springfield has been lodged with Ipswich City council.
Springview Village 2, the next stage of a huge housing estate near Springfield Blvd, would include 821 lots if approved by Council.
All houses would be detached, with local parks, on a bushland site adjoining Woogaroo and Opossum creeks, and built gradually over 23 stages.
The site is bounded by 7001 Mur Blvd, 1 Telopea Way and 7006 Panorama Drive.
Designed by RPS, the proposed house lots would range from 250 sqm to 575 sqm, with parks spaced throughout.
Access to the development would be from a new road connecting to Mur Blvd and a road extension from Panorama Drive connecting the estate to Springfield Parkway, via Springview Village 1.
“The layout of the proposed subdivision has had the benefit of civil engineering, stormwater, ecological, traffic and bushfire input,’’ planners RPS said in the DA.
“In our opinion it strikes a balance between maximising the use of an area that is zoned for residential development, protecting significant natural features and ensuring adequate access to nearby services and facilities.
“The proposed lot sizes and configurations are consistent with conventional greenfield subdivision elsewhere in Springfield and Ipswich generally, including Village 1.’’
