Armed robbers almost managed to escape with a fortune in jewels from a Sunnybank store before crashing into a car during a wild getaway.

One of the men in the stolen getaway car then tried to flee on foot but was run down by police who had been tracking the vehicle.

The terrifying incident, which left a Boronia Heights woman with injuries after her car was rammed, unfolded about midday on Thursday.

Police will allege a man entered a jewellery store in a shopping complex on Mains Rd, armed with a shotgun.

It is alleged he approached the counter and demanded items from the display cabinet, as well as cash.

He then fled with jewellery worth $150,000 and a small amount of cash, police said.

They said another man was waiting outside in a white Isuzu ute stolen from a Camp Hill home the previous day.

Police spotted the ute about 1.50pm on Stoney Camp Rd, Park Ridge, and tracked it for a short time during which it was seen to veer onto the wrong side of the road numerous times.

The car then crashed into a red Nissan Pulsar hatchback on Middle Rd, Regents Park.

One of the men then tried to flee. A 23-year-old Woodridge woman in the back seat received minor leg injuries in the crash.

Logan and Dutton Park detectives have charged a Coopers Plains man, 22, with multiple offences including armed robbery, entering a premise, committing an indictable offence, dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a vehicle and breach of bail.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow (August 8).

An Underwood man, 23, was charged with unlawful use of a vehicle and possessing dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 13.

The Woodridge woman was charged with unlawful use of a vehicle and breach of bail.

She appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court earlier today (Friday).
