Springfield’s top barber revealed

The votes have been counted and the winner of Springfield’s most popular barber can be revealed.

Casey Knowler's On The Block in Springfield has topped our reader poll of best local barbers.

You don’t need a flash barbershop in the high street to be the best around, at least according to our readers.

Springfield News asked our Facebook followers to nominate their favourite barber and the results were clear — Casey Knowler from On The Block Barbershop.

Mr Knowler, who previously worked in the CBD, set up shop only a month ago in his house in Springfield and hasn’t looked back.

“I already had a lot of clientele in the area, which helped,’’ he said.

“But we’re building up fast. I like to think it’s the experience and the rapport that counts.

“You can go anywhere for a haircut, but having that connection is harder to find.

“It’s one-on-one service.’’

Lole's Barbershop in Springfield has come second in our reader poll of the most popular local barbers.

Coming in at number two was Lole’s Barbershop, which was praised by its loyal customers for commitment to style and service.

Barbershop Express, at Orion shopping centre, also ticked the boxes, drawing the third most number of votes.

Manager Lauren Jones said they also focused “100 per cent’’ on service.

As a result her team had grown rapidly in the 12 months since they set up.

“We have female and male barbers, which helps — a lot of blokes like males barbers, others prefer female barbers,’’ she said.

“But at the end of the day we ensure customer service is on point.’’
