The future of rugby league in Queensland is in safe hands. Just take a look at the young guns that contested the top flight Langer Trophy, Dolphins Cup and Aaron Payne Cup competitions this year.
Also waiting in the wings were the next batch of top guns, the Year 10 boys who played in the Walters Cup and Cowboys Challenge.
This year the Sunshine State’s best and brightest schoolboy rugby league players proved themselves against elite opposition. With the season wrapped up, we ask you to vote for the top schoolboy league talent you saw in 2024 to choose an ultimate side. A dream team.
We want you to cast your vote on the top player, and the 13 players with the highest amount of votes will form a bumper Queensland schoolboys team of the year.
In Southeast Queensland’s Langer Trophy competition, Keebra Park SHS trio Joey Tupuse, Mason Barber and David Bryenton were thrill-a-minute performers. Ipswich SHS, who were unbeatable in the home-and-away season, had youngsters like Tom Parker step up from fullback.
The Palm Beach Currumbin SHS Reds also had a group of top guns, featuring the Harrison twins, Isaac and Zane, and many others.
Up north in the Aaron Payne Cup, the Benioni brothers, Davidson and Benioni, starred for Kirwan SHS while Adam McSherry was masterful for St Patrick’s College.
The Central Queensland competition, the Dolphins Cup, also unearthed some fine talent sure to poll some votes. St Brendan’s College premiership winnig captain Simon Green was one of the finest.
