Who will be the Players to Watch in Thursday’s senior boys and girls Schools Premier League grand finals to be livestreamed by News Corp?

News Corp will livestream tomorrow’s Schools Premier League senior boys and girls grand finals.

They will be part of 17 finals to be streamed by the www.couriermail.com.au, the Gold Coast Bulletin, Sunshine Coast Daily and News affiliates this month.

Thursday features the senior boys and girls deciders, while the junior girls, boys and intermediate semi-finals (October 22) and grand finals (October 28) will also be livestreamed later this month.

Who will be some of the key Players to Watch in Thursday’s senior finals.

Palm Beach Currumbin SHS

Senior boys

Captain is Eli Hughes, an Australian schoolboy representative who is a dynamic and creative midfielder with an eye for goal and extremely high workrate. He leads by example.

Kai Thelwall is a strong combative defender, dangerous in the air from set pieces

Travis McKenzie is a rapid fullback with excellent delivery into the box

Watch for Lachlan Anderson, a technical midfielder, assist machine with a great delivery from set pieces.

Chancellor State College

Senior Boys

Captain Kane Gibbs, a Brisbane Roar under 23 player, will be missing from the midfield due to injury, but Chancellor State College still have plenty of experience in the midfield courtesy of Kurt Vochteloo. He is a hard working midfielder who will look to try and control the game. He has been playing senior football for Maroochydore FC.

Josh Morewood, another senior player from Maroochydore FC, is the goalkeeper who has kept Chancellor State College in a number of SPL games this year with some key saves.

Josh Buchannan is a quick and direct winger who will look to try and dribble and get in behind his defender. He is a Fire under 16s player.

Chancellor State College

Senior Girls

Captain Tia Vela is a hard working box to box midfielder who is dangerous in the final third and can score goals. She is a QAS under 18s player.

Goalkeeper Murphy Sheaff is one of the best who plays for Souths women and who is in contention for the under 19 World Cup team for New Zealand.

Midfielder Macey Edward is dynamic. She loves to dribble and go past her defenders and is very creative who will cause problems in the finals third for the opposition. She is a Sunshine Coast Wanderers under 23 representative.

Victoria Holowko is a strong centre back and a very good one versus one defender. She is a Sunshine Coast Wanderers under 23s player.

KELVIN GROVE STATE COLLEGE

Boys: Blake Grove

Girls: Mackenzie Nielsen

Senior Girls

Abbi Taylor and Georgia Fogarty control the midfield with their high work rate

Goalkeeper Mia Bailey was recently selected in the Roar Women’s team for the upcoming season. She has great distribution.

Captain May Salazar Kohara is a centre back who demonstrates great perseverance and an ability to direct and motivate the team.

Cavendish Road SHS

Senior Boys

Striker Josh Moreland has the ability to bring a game to life with his creativity and intensity.

Full backs Kai Motes, Daichi Nagumo and Kai Davidson were all energetic and very fit players who provides great width to their team’s attack. They have a high work rate to get back and defend.

Captain Oliver Dearn is a defensive midfieldrt, very determined to ensure his team does their best. He also provides great cover in front of out the back to prevent the opposition counter attacks, while being calm and creative on the ball.

Murrumba State Secondary College

Senior girls

Captain Jolianne Cruz will play right wing where she will display great dribbling skills and will look to take players on and drive into the box to get a shot on goal

Cadence Charlot is a strong and reliable centre defensive medfield with the ability to play balls forward to players in dangerous areas

Centre back Freya Crooks is only in year 9 and has an ability to play in several positions.
