The premiership is down to a three way shoot off after BBC claimed a thrilling win and Toowoomba Grammar also closed the gap on leaders The Southport School.
A Ryan Atley-inspired Brisbane Boys College got enough play in to snare an outright win on Saturday to rise from the ashes and win by just one wicket over Ipswich Grammar School, while TSS and Toowoomba Grammar scrambled some bonus points before wet weather had the final say.
Churchie also finished Nudgee’s campaign with an upset win, with bowlers Henry Hillier (3-22), Ed Storen (3-38) and Tighe Morris (2-25) the stars. Terrace also had a win over Brisbane Grammar School (more on both games below).
With two rounds remaining, the ladder looks like this:
1. TSS 40
2. BBC 35
3. TGS 34
4. Churchie 25
5. Nudgee 25
6. Terrace 16
7. BSHS 16
8. BGS 12
9. IGS 10
While TSS lead, they could be overtaken this Saturday by both BBC and TGS because The Southport School has a bye and will not progress its tally.
The road ahead will see:
TSS bye, Nudgee (home)
BBC v Terrace (home), BSHS (away)
TGS v Nudgee (home), IGS (away)

While the Darling Downs folk enjoyed having some rain, it was not welcomed by TSS who never got to bat after TGS made 7-152 after batting first.
Chace Oates (64 not out) was up to his old tricks, but this time he batted for more than two hours to prevent his side succumbing to the outstanding TSS attack of Zac McDermott, Ryan Summers, Tom Waterman, Ned Hanrahan, Jacob Bath and young spinner Thaman who again impressed (1-24, eight overs).

While TSS and TGS were left frustrated, Brisbane Boys College snuck past IGS’s 9-190 - but only just.
BBC looked down and out but made 9-191, with gloveman Atley (58 not out, 97 balls) adding an unlikely for the last wicket with No.11 Oscar White after Angus Harris (47) had batted well early.
It was an absolute thriller and full marks to IGS for their role in the exciting game.
IGS had reached almost 200, pushed along by Cody Dalziel (36), Jack Hillier (18), Jackson Evetts (24) and Jacob Cibulka (26).
Then last pair Luke Wegner (13 not out, 11 balls) and No.11 Sujal Raiyani (2 not out, four balls) took the score from 9-175 to 190.
IGS were on top when Kori Ramsden (4-46) got among the wickets, supported by Wegner (2-33), Cibulka, Evetts and Harper who proved almost impossible to get away.
BBC went from 3-115 to 9-155 and looked gone until the Atley-White association.
White scored eight not out from 48 balls in a stunning rearguard effort.
Earlier, BBC did well early with captain Jamie Alexander again shining with a glistening new ball.
Alexander has take 14 wickets at 24 this season and his 3-34 from nine overs yesterday were golden for his side.
James Martens (4-43) and Blake Armstrong (1-31) were also among the wickets, but just as important were the tight contributions of Jack Heelan and Christian Alexander. Each also took a wicket.
Atley now has 219 runs at 43.80 for BBC this season.
On Ross Oval, Churchie secured a gripping two wicket win via the Duckworth-Lewis calculation.
Nudgee batted first after Churchie opted to have a bowl, a decision which later rewarded winning skipper Jack Ryan.
Mathew Fielding (38) and Jack Balkin (56) got their side off to a wonderful start with a 56 run stand. But, with Ed Storen, Tighe Morris and Henry Hillier on fire, the Nudgee middle order crumbled.
Balkin, who hit three fours and two sixes, was in the middle for 131 minutes, grinding it out while his fellow schoolmates fell cheaply.
Angus Storen and Charlie Moore assisted Ed Storen (3-38), Hillier (3-22) and Morris (2-25) with the ball to erase Nudgee for 156 in the 44th over, setting up an exciting chase for Churchie.
With drizzle coming down Churchie openers Connor Rudman (28) and Jayden Draper (11) displayed great poise, holding out the Nudgee bowlers long enough to accumulate 49 crucial runs.
Tighe Morris stamped his mark on the match with a cameo of 20 soon after Carter Corless collected the scalps of both Rudman and Draper, before a match-winning 29 off 41 from No.8 Daniel Boreham brought Churchie past the winners post.
Boreham hit four fours in his 60 minute knock and joining him was Hillier, who stuck in there for an unbeaten 14.
Churchie got the required 142 (Duckworth-Lewis adjusted total) in the end, with the helping hand of 36 extras.
Angus McLean, Corless, Fergus McFadyen, Grady Turner and Balkin the wicket takers for Nudgee in a tough loss at home that ruled them out of premiership contention.
At Gregory Terrace, the home side enjoyed a 52 run victory over Brisbane Grammar after a team effort with the bat posted a formidable 200.
Out of the 10 batsmen, seven notched double figures. Christian Jardine (20) and Theodore Bacalakis (13) kickstarted the innings before Harry Frost (23) and Hayden Evetts (24) put on 40.
This partnership between Jardine and Bacalakis of 48 was a good one before Brisbane Grammar’s Oliver Skerl and Jack Mathews pounced.
The runs kept coming through Jonathan Morgan (26), Angus Kelly (21) and Oscar Bodimeade (12), helping Terrace reach 200 in the 50th over.
Brisbane Grammar wasn’t on the money, bowling 36 wides in an effort which gifted Terrace 47 freebies.
Soham sane (2-40), Callum Vidler (1-35), Mathews (2-30) Skerl (1-25) and Oliver Spence (2-35) took the wickets.
In reply, Brisbane Grammar’s Ethan Du Payne (60 off 86) dazzled with the top score of the day, but in the end his side fell short.
Coming in at 2-24, Du Payne knew he had work to do. And indeed he got to work, making a living of one’s and two’s. He hit just four boundaries during his 122 minutes at the crease.
Sam Brown (22), Max Clark (20) and Isaac Lutz (13) chipped in but the bowling of T Hallion (3-11) suffocated the Brisbane Grammar batsmen.
Tom Hallion picked up a hattrick of wickets to begin Terrace’s bowling effort, before Tom Stubbin (3-32), James Eustance (2-26), Morgan (1-17) and Frost (1-15) swept through the rest.
Terrace kept it tight, giving up just 12 extras.
Players of the Week
BBC v Churchie
Ryan Atley (BBC)
The Brisbane Boys College keeper played the most important innings (41) of the weekend to get his side home.
Oscar White (BBC)
The BBC bowler played the second most important innings of the weekend, sharing a last wicket stand with Atley that took BBC from the jaws of defeat.
Kori Ramsden (IGS)
IGS captain Ramsden almost bowled his side to victory with a terrific four wicket haul. IF IGS had won, he would have received a telegram from both TSS and TGS players.
Jamie Alexander (BBC)
The BBC captain again knocked the cream off the top with three crucial wickets.
Angus Harris (BBC)
In a low scoring match BBC were sunk without Harris’ 47 that came before IGS’s amazing bowling recovery.
TERRACE v BGS
Ethan Du Payne (Brisbane Grammar)
60 runs and a loss. Du Payne should hold his head high knowing he was a batting hero despite the result.
Out of his 60, only 16 came through boundaries, meaning the remaining 44 runs came through excellent running between the wickets, expert communication and a hustle mentality turning one’s into two’s.
Harry Frost, Hayden Evetts, Jonathon Morgan, Angus Kelly (Gregory Terrace)
Although none of them carried on, these four combined superbly to bring up 200 for the home side. Frost was patient with 23 runs off 58 balls, as was Evetts with 24 runs from 47.
Down the order, Morgan’s 26 off 45 was inspirational, as was Kelly’s quick 21 run spurt.
CHURCHIE V NUDGEE
Jack Balkin (Nudgee)
Balkin batted his heart out for 56 of the best. He couldn’t have done much more for Nudgee. Unfortunately on the day he came across Churchie bowlers no doubt under the influence of five plus Weetabix.
Mathew Fielding was also brave, hitting the shiny new ball for 38.
Ed Storen and Henry Hillier (Churchie)
These two came to play, the pair taking three wickets apiece in a bowling masterclass.
Storen used his height to muster extra pace, while Hillier’s left arm orthodox spin was at times unplayable. Slow bowler Tighe Morris wasn’t far behind with two scalps sending the Nudgee batsmen packing.
TSS v TGS
Chace Oates (TGS)
In a rain shortened game TGS’s Oates was the best batsman on the day with an unbeaten half century in more than two hours.
Dushyant Thaman (TSS)
The young Year 10 TSS wrist spinner continued to impress around his
band of fast bowlers.
