Players: Kydan Tuapou (C), Rose Mulligun, Hannah Eadie, Isabella Ah Toon, Charlotte Millen, Mya Wilson, Aalisha Ashton, Maddison Waugh, Tiana Afoa, Isabella Green and Olivia Parrot

What worked: After the disappointment of no premierships over the last two years, this was the season to shine and the State High Open team did exactly that. Demonstrating their dominance with the first two games with strong wins against St Aiden’s and BGGS, the team with a mix of Year 10, 11 and 12s had something to prove. Round 6 had a shaky start against St Peters who were also tied first at the time, and it turned out to be the point of the season where grit and determination from the team stepped up and produced a stellar win by 14 goals. To add to this, finding out they were at the top of the ladder just pushed and drove the girls with more excitement towards the end of the season. A washed out round and a win secured the 2022 premiership for the Open netball team at State High for the first time since 2017.

Best moments: The standout game of the season would have to be the draw against Moreton Bay College as the rivalry match was full of intensity, multiple lead changes throughout, and never more than a two-goal buffer from either side. Going down to the wire and ending on even scores, both sides would have to wait to see what happened in upcoming matches.
