Australian water polo great Bronwen Knox will be back in the water as News Corp prepares to livestream the Delfina Sport Water Polo Queensland’s Premier League.
The league, featuring teams from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, will be played over four weekends starting on October 17, will culminate in the grand final on November 28 at the Valley Pool.
The www.couriermail, the Gold Coast Bulletin and Sunshine Coast Daily and News affiliates will livestream the competition across Queensland.

Knox and fellow Olympians Gabi Palm, Abby Andrews, Rhys Howden, along with Australian representative Alice Williams and several legends of the game will feature during Premier League games.
One field in each of the three preliminary rounds (6-7 games each round) will be livestreamed leading up to the finals.
Sydney 2000 gold medallist Jo Clark, 2008 Beijing Olympian Anthony Martin, London 2012 Olympian Billy Miller and Rio 2016 Olympian Kelsey Wakefield will play, while Naomi McCarthy will coach North Brisbane Polo Bears.
In addition to the Premier League, News Corp has locked in an agreement with Water Polo Queensland to live stream another four state-based competitions between October and April. This will include up to 100 junior and senior matches across metropolitan and regional-based events.
The competitions to be streamed after the elite Premier League will be:
December 5: Queensland Junior Country Championships - St Andrew Aquatic Centre, Sunshine Coast
February 20 (date TBC): Queensland Country Championships - Tobruk Pool, Cairns
March 19: Brisbane Water Polo competition - Valley Pool, Brisbane
April 5, 11: State Titles - Chandler Aquatic Centre, Brisbane
Knox will play under McCarthy at Polo Bears and said she always planned to play on after the Tokyo Olympic Games.
“I always planned to play Premier League as a way to still maintain some involvement in the sport, but also I enjoying playing from a social aspect,’’ said Knox.
Knox stretched herself mentally and physically to get to the line and represent Australia in Tokyo after the Games were delayed 12 months due to the COVID outbreak..
But her motivation for giving back to the sport locally remains sky high.
“I am hoping now that I am not as solely focus on my own goals I can help others on their way to achieving theirs, as well as giving back into the sport that has offered me so much,’’ she said.
Along the way she will be helping Queensland’s next generation of player, like Charlize Andrews, Amelia Watt and Molly Nasser.
“Being able to help the next generation is very rewarding,’’ Knox said.
“In my early years I had the guidance of the more senior player to help me along the way and as a way of paying to forward I am looking forward to doing the same.’’
Aside from Queensland’s Olympians, Tokyo Games referee Nicola Johnson, the first Queenslander and Australian female referee to officiate at an Olympic Games, will referee.
