GPS rugby 2020 season: St Joseph’s Nudgee College make hard work pledge

St Joseph’s Nudgee College have made a hard work pledge entering the GPS rugby 2020 season. Lastus Auakai was expected to spearhead Nudgee’s campaign as the squad looks to position itself for when the whips are cracking late in the season.

St Joseph’s Nudgee College will carry the motto “Doing The Work’’ into season 2020 when the GPS rugby competition starts with trial matches on July 25.

Director of rugby Sean Graham said the squad would pride itself on not cutting corners as the group looks to climb over the top of rivals in a tight competition and be in the running for the premiership when the whips are cracking late next month.

“But we expect to be well prepared for each game and for our boys to be competitive in every match. ‘'

Last season, in a blanket finish, Nudgee finished third behind TSS and BBC.

Also thrown into the mix is a handful of 16-year-olds.

One of those returning players, Lastus Auakai, was expected to be a spearhead.

With a strong carry and a lethal step, Auakai was expected to challenge opposition defences in a variety of ways.
