Easts Tigers speedster Piper Flynn dazzled in a four try showing as the Easts Tigers defeated Souths 58-0 in round four of the StoreLocal Premier Women club rugby season.
A rugby 7s ace, Flynn showed her unique skills when running away for four tries, as her Tigers warmed their engines for a big clash against University this weekend.
Flynn shifted from fullback into outside centre where, with pacy winger Leilani Hills on her outside, she was able to pin her ears back and go herself, or take on the line and unload to Hills who twice scored tries.
Hills, another fast Tigers outside back, showed her wheels when scoring a 60m try set up by Flynn.
Both Flynn and Hills’ deeds on Saturday are recognised in our Team of the Week below, a team also featuring Queensland Reds Super W duo Nat Wright and Lori Cramer who were class acts in University’s 66-0 Aiken-Kairl Cup win over Brothers.
Wright, who played halfback for the Reds during the Super W season, shifted from flyhalf into scrumhalf and Cramer fullback to flyhalf when veteran No.9 Asako Ono left the field with an injury.
Wright and Cramer showed their class, with Cramer kicking 80 per cent at goal as University front rowers Seilala Otuafi, Matauimalo Malele Iafeta and Memory Manapori dominated in close quarters.
In the backs, Wright was the firing pin for Greta Gowen, Cramer, Lillian Kolb, Ciara McAlpine and Lillian Kolb to run free.
Wright scored two tries, her footwork and ferocious fend delivering her second of the day which was a stunning individual effort.
At Sunnybank, the Dragons marched on with a 41-7 win over GPS, while Bond University had some magic moments in their 68-0 win over Norths at Norths.
In that game ageless flyhalf Cobie Jane Morgan shone brightly while young halfback Evie Sampson did well behind Jemma Bemrose (No.8) and Mel Wilks (inside centre).
Trailblazing Wallaroos coach Joanne Yapp need look no further than versatile outside back Wilks for her outside centre.
Against Bond, Norths hooker Merina Latu was great while Theresa Nasilai did well at flanker.
