1. Nicholas Weedon (St Patrick’s)

3.Jack Watson (Ashgrove)

Watson’s outstanding season continued at pace when he guided his side to a six wicket win. Watson scored 33 not out after taking 3-10. A right arm medium pace bowler, he bowled straight to claim his victims bowled or LBW.

4. Samuel Pauli (Villanova)

A Bulimba junior, Pauli had a big impact on the match, building pressure and taking wickets during his 10 overs (3-26), and with the bat he scored a handy 19 in a low scoring game.

5. Theo Tsingos (St Patrick’s)

Well the wait was worth it. St Patrick’s waited all season to have their star U17 Queensland fast bowler play a First XI match and he did not let his teammates down. Tsingos smashed 80 not out from 52 balls and snared 2-9 with the ball.

6. Fraser Smith (Villanova)

Smith was the match winner with a composed 22 not out in a crisis. His side seemed certain to lose, but Smith knitted the tail together to score enough runs for victory.

7. Lars Sagorski (St Peters)

The remarkable Saints’ captain, with his dazzling 5-25 somehow taking his team to victory. The St Peters players had their backs to the wall defending just 90, but Sagorski produced a “follow me’’ performance to take his side to an unlikely nine run win. He took the first wicket, the last wicket and another three wickets in between.

8. Jess Haller (Iona)

Haller was a star in a beaten side as Villa upset rivals Iona in a local derby classic last Saturday. In a collapsing innings off spinner Haller scored vital 20 to help Flynn Donnelly take his side from 7-66 to 8-129. He then claimed 3-42, including the vital scalp of Villa ace Finn Thallon.

9. Flynn Donnelly (Iona)

Right arm fast bowler Donnelly almost swung the match his team’s way with a blazing 52 from 45 balls which was against the run of play in a game dominated by the bowlers. He then bowled tightly, conceding just 12 runs from six overs in a thriller.

10. Carter McSweeney (St Patrick’s)

After Tsingos had prized open the innings with two quick wickets, McSweeney swept in with other three top order scalps, including the prized wicket of Ipswich batsman Patrick Albion. He snared 3-28.

11. Ryan Out (Padua)

The young off spinner was sublime in a beaten side. His 10-2-15-3 were among the best by any bowler this season, and his wickets included the dangerous Charlie Conway and St Peters captain Lars Sagorski. He also built pressure for his bowling partner at the other end.

12.Alexander Kirkpatrick (Padua)

Kirkpatrick (3-27) knocked the St Peters top order for six with a devastating new ball spell. He claimed both openers, and then Beau Guppy who was set at the crease after making 16 from 37 deliveries.

Special mentions

Thomas Vaseo (St Laurence’s): The Redlands fast bowler contributed with both bat (25) and ball (2-29) during a nice performance against Ashgrove.

Patrick Albion (St Edmund’s) gets a mention for his gutsy 26 from 53 deliveries against an attack with its tail up that included state bowler Tsingos.

Quinn Walton (Padua) claimed 2-20 and was an unlucky omission from the Team of the Week.

Adam Hogan (St Patrick’s) was another desperately unlucky omission given his three wickets bowling leg spin.

Samuel Morris and Rylan McDonald (both St Edmund’s) are a gutsy new ball pairing who were having a good season. In round four Morris claimed 2-41 and McDonald 1-35.

Finn Haller and Liam Johns (Iona) both contributed with the ball. Johns missed out with the bat but claimed 2026, while swing bowler Haller took 2-26.

Yashveer Khatkar and Isaac Krause (St Peters) It was all about their captain, five-wicket hero Lars Sagorski, but he could not do it all on his own. Sagorski trusty lieutenants were Khatkar (2-12), Krause and Harrison Brown
