After showcasing hundreds of Book Week costumes from Logan to Caboolture, Quest News has now revealed some of the very best looks – VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE NOW

Book Week costumes were weeks, and even months in the making for students across Greater Brisbane — and they finally went on show this week.

Caboolture East State School principal Shane Hall said Book Week was a time for creativity and most importantly, to celebrate literature and the amazing work of authors and illustrators.

“Dress up and costumes are memories that we can all relate to,” Ms Hall said.

“I think back to the many times my mum organised a costume and how special that was for our family.

“Students love to imagine and play as their favourite book character.”

All schools celebrate in their own individual way, with loads of activities, parades and learning fun.

Meanwhile Narangba Valley State School principal Amanda Wicks said it was a time both students and teachers looked forward to.

“We have an awesome group of teachers and staff promoting reading, we have extra daily activities in the library this week, reading buddies with older children reading to younger students at playtime, we host our Book Fair Family Fun afternoon creating community spirit and of course there’s also the costume preparation,” Ms Wicks said.

“Our staff teams find their favourite story and get into the spirit with the children – it’s a credit to everyone involved and just goes to show you can love reading no matter what your outfit is or how old you are!”

From classics like Alice in Wonderland to new creations like The Mandalorian’s Grogu, these schools have got it all.
