Thief uses master key to raid till in RSPCA op shop

Police are investigating an incident at Sherwood in which a man slipped into an RSPCA op shop and stole money from their till

Police are investigating an incident at the Sherwood RSPCA on Tuesday in which a man used a generic key to steal cash from a till.

An RSPCA spokesman said the man waited until the volunteer managing the counter was occupied and deftly used some kind of master key to unlock the cash register.

He took $200 from the hardworking charity that not only helps prevent animal cruelty and provide homes for unwanted animals but, through the op shop, also helps people in need.

An RSPCA spokesman said a clear security camera photograph of the man believed to be responsible for the theft had been passed to police.
