New Zealand may have won the trans-Tasman Series 2-1 earlier in the month, but the experience added a “unique’’ dimensionto Astbury’s career.
“It was incredible, goose bumps stuff. The hockey was great, the team was tight and the atmosphere was fantastic,’’ Astburysaid.
“It has been a good year for me actually.’’
But the 20-year-old has plenty to still achieve.
“It is about keeping consistent and constantly improving,’’ Astbury said.
“I feel like I am in a good place for the future.
“I want to have another good club season and we (Australian under 21s) have a camp in February and I want to get a trainingblock in ahead of that and put my best foot forward,’’ the goalkeeper said.
