Rowing pair Miller Rowe and Logan Ullrich ready for world junior championships in Prague

Rowing pair Miller Rowe and Logan Ullrich, old boys of Brisbane Boys Grammar School, ready to attend the world junior championships in Prague during August.

Rowing pair Miller Rowe and Logan Ullrich are ready to attend the world junior championships in Prague, August 7-12.

The old boys of Brisbane Boys Grammar School have been training under the guidance of their coach Scott Rowe at St Lucia.

Scott Rowe, Miller’s father, said the pair’s achievement to make the team was a credit to their drive and desire.

“These are two very driven young blokes who made a decision what they wanted to do and they went for it,’’ Scott Rowe said.

“It is testimony to their commitment that they have stuck at it and this justifies their effort

Asked what he admired most, Scott Rowe said: “The commitment and trust they have built in each other.’’

He said Logan had a shoulder reconstruction last year following a rugby accident and their rowing journey “could have derailed’’.

“But they kept each other honest, stayed to the plan and off they went.

“They respect each other. They balance themselves well and are fun to be around.’’

He said if they stuck at it, the 2024 Olympic Games were a possibility.

For the moment it will be about gaining European race experience.
