The western suburbs sporting sister act has enabled the four elite sportswomen to go about their training with less disruption than most.

While the COVID-19 drama has diminished the training of some athletes, the sisters’ mother Cerene said the girls had improved together, such was the quality work they are doing together.

“I have seen huge results in not only motivation and engagement, but I can see improvements in time trials among them,“ said Cerene, who is also coach of the High Cadence running squad.

“Through COVID-19 they are training together and feeding off each other.’’

Triathlete Milan has had no trouble finding a training partner when she rides, with at least one of the sisters always up a ride or a foot run next to her.

Indeed, so strong is their relationship that if Milan’s coach, Warwick Dalziel, orders her on long, three or so hour ride that prevents a sister joining her, Milan is disappointed.

“She hates that the others are at home because she wants them to come as well,’’ mum said.

They also do strength and conditioning and cardio work together, and the sisters’ diet has improved because Milan has been able to educate on the best times to eat and what.

THE SECRET TO THE MERMAIDS WATER POLO SUCCESS

This is because Milan is part of the Queensland Academy of Sport which includes specialist dietary advice.

Cerene said she was proud of the way her daughters have rallied together under the duress of the COVID-19 shutdown crisis.

“It is there own in-house training squad, feeding off reach and encouraging each other through this,’’ Cerene said.

“But it is done in such a beautiful way. I am really proud how close they are and being able to do this as mates,’’ she said.

Both Kaya and Lausanne are at Moreton Bay College while Milan and Sevella are Brisbane Girls’ Grammar School alumni.
