They say good things come in threes and that has certainly been the case for Queensland hockey player Morgan Gallagher.
Gallagher, 21, is enjoying a purple patch in her career, having recently led University of Queensland Hockey Club to a historic Division 1 premiership.
Gallagher is also a member of the Queensland Scorchers team currently competing in the Australian Hockey League.
And thirdly she has earned selection in the Australian under 23 development team bound for China in November.
The Australian side will compete in a tournament with China, Great Britain, Germany and Chinese national champions Jiangsu.

Gallagher, whose Scorchers play Tasmania at the State Hockey Centre on October 20, was excited to represent her state.
“I love representing Queensland,’’ said the past student of Holy Family Primary School and St Aidan’s Anglican Girls College.
“There is no better feeling than going out against the other states. It is absolute privilege to do that.’’
Gallagher is no stranger to wearing maroon.
“I have made a Queensland team every year since under 13s,’’ she said.
Yet it was not until she was aged 17 that the penny dropped in her hockey career.
That year, Gallagher was only one of two new people added to the QAS squad.
“That is when I thought I will have to get cracking,’’ Gallagher said.
“The girls that were already in it were older and really serious and it was great to be around that training environment.’’
A junior of South West United, Gallagher said making the Australian under 23 development squad was a boost to her confidence.
“It is a big step up,’’ she said.
