Emily Campbell, Hilal Durmaz, Leilani Hills, Gabrielle Schmidt and Angelina Tignani returned with gold medals from the Australian All Schools track and field championships in Perth.
The performances on the final day of competition followed an outstanding haul by Queenslanders on days one and two of competition which were headed by Elizabeth Moss, Eloise Tolstoff, Lyvante Su’emai, Ashley Wong, Reece Holder and Isabella Harte.
Campbell, a Balmoral Little Athletics Centre junior who now attends Brisbane State High School, scooted to gold in the under 18 100m hurdles in 13.88 seconds.
St Peters Lutheran College student Hilal Durmaz broke the meet record in the 100m under 16 dash, running 11.54 seconds.
Leilani Hills, a Mt Gravatt Little Athletics product from Holland Park State School, then scorched to victory in the under16 90m hurdles in 12.66 seconds.

St Peters Lutheran College student Gabrielle Schmidt collected her second medal of the meet
after winning the 1500m under 14 event. Earlier in the meet she had placed second in the 800m.
St Aidan’s Angelina Tignani won the under 16 girls javelin and finished fourth competing up in years in the under 18s.
St Joseph’s Nudgee College Callum Wallace was second in the under 16 javelin.
Another St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School student Bridget McCormack, coming off a 400m at the QGSSSA meet in September, carried that form into the All Schools with a second placing in the under 16 1500m.
Reece Holder, yet another out of the Balmoral Little Athletics stable, claimed the 18 years 400m title after winning the 200m mantle over the weekend.
Marissa Hanlon, who was competing in Perth alongside her sister Monique, was third in the 400m under 14. The Hanlon sisters, Centenary Little Athletic juniors, returned home with four medals between them.

St Patrick’s College student Cooper Wellman, a Bracken Ridge resident, won a bronze medal in the under 14 90m hurdles while another St Pat’s athlete, William Boland, claimed silver in the under 18 high jump.
Carina Heights resident Jay Sahlqvist, who attends Iona College, was second in the boys under 16 triple jump.
Springwood Little Athletic junior Alex Arbuthnot also had the joy of a podium finish - silver medal - in the under 14 pole vault.
