RSPCA Queensland has sent out an urgent call to supporters for help to fund its animal ambulance and rescue care teams with resources ‘stretched to the limit’.

CEO Darren Maier said in an email to supporters “times are changing so fast and we know that there will be more challenges for us to all face before this is over”.
“Even in these times of crisis ... our team is still out there on the road every day rescuing and treating injured animals,” Mr Maier said.
He said the Wacol Wildlife Hospital and shelter was still seeing 75 new wildlife admissions every day and 212 domestic pets brought into care each week.

“Our animal rescue and care teams are stretched to the limit,” Mr Maier said.

Mr Maier said $15 could help keep the cruelty hotline operating, $25 would support inspectors to take on urgent animal rescue and $175 would pay for a week’s care for an animal in the shelter.
“Any amount you can give today would make a vital difference,” Mr Maier said.
