A popular Gold Coast indoor adventure centre which has wowed thrill seekers for a decade has lodged plans for it’s first Brisbane outlet, including electric go karts.

Game Over at Helensvale has packed in the crowds over the years with its unique attractions aimed at kids and adults still in touch with their inner child.

They included electric go karting, a clip ’n climb wall for novice climbers, zipline, mini golf, Lazer Tag, arcade games and children’s party space.

The company has now lodged plans with Brisbane City Council to refit the former Amart furniture store on Ipswich Rd in Oxley.

ATP Design Studio was commissioned to re-purpose the showroom, with a completely new fit-out housing a go kart track, arcade games room, children’s soft fall play area, mini-golf and children’s party and events space.

There would be a new vehicle access but the same number of car parks — 199 shared spaces.

It would open seven days a week from 8am.

The Gold Coast venue offered “combo’’ passes for multiple attractions and could be booked out for corporate and other events.

The development application said the existing building envelope would be unchanged, with an internal fit-out only including 800 sqm of arcade space, 3000 sqm go kart track, 800 sqm soft play area, reception and 400 sqm mini golf/putt putt space.

Neighbours included Oxley State School, small businesses and light industrial buildings.

It came after a Council decision on plans for showrooms and two takeaways at a nearby Blunder Rd site was pushed back until after Christmas.

The proposed new centre at 62 Blunder Rd, if approved, would include three retail showrooms and two drive-through restaurants, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The two-level building would have 250 ground-level car parks to raise the showrooms above flood level.

However, Council officers said in the development application documents that the plans breached so many of its rules, particularly an “extreme’’ flood risk at the carpark level, that it advised the proposal be withdrawn or go through a formal publicly notification process.
