The latest and flashiest centre to join the childcare boom on Brisbane’s bayside will be the first of its kind after the operators of the new $10 million development have been revealed.

Wings Early Learning Academy will launch its first centre at 18-22 Ernest St, Manly in early 2023 with construction to start on the project next month.

A subsidiary of development company and owners of the land in Echelon Property Group, Wings Early Learning’s inaugural location will feature 108 places and is one of four new childcare projects on the bayside.

Echelon Property Group managing director Joseph Dean said the new centre would be different to anything else offered in the area.

“Obviously this will be the newest centre in the area and we’ve been consulting with industry professionals to ensure we offer the best services possible,” he said.

“With all the development happening on the bayside and change in demographic in the area, Manly has really become a highly desirable place to live, so there is the need for more quality childcare.

“There’s definitely not an oversupply of centres in the area despite new childcare venues popping up around the bayside and another one also being on the same street.

“We have done our research and it shows that there is a massive demand for supply for early learning and we look forward to offering something new to what is already being delivered on the bayside.”

The Dean family, who have been a part of the bayside community for decades, were also behind a new childcare centre which recently opened on Stradbroke Ave in Wynnum.

Mr Dean said he was proud for his family to continue to contribute to the rise of Wynnum and Manly.

He also said he believed concerns raised about the centre bringing more traffic problems to an already busy part of Manly have been addressed during the development application process.

The building of the new centre is estimated to bring in up to 30 jobs during the construction process with 30 staff set to be employed once the venue is open for business.
