American cuisine reigns supreme at Wing Fix Coorparoo, a locally-owned and operated meaty eatery which has won Matt Preston and Delicious Magazine’s best local burger competition for Brisbane’s southeast.

From humble beginnings as a food truck to setting up sought-after stores at Coorparoo and Newmarket, brothers and business partners Peter and Ross Jacobi know what it takes to make authentic and delicious American-style meals.

Peter said their chefs “do everything the hard way”, from making their own marinades and sauces in-house, to having the meat in their patties ground to special specifications.

“We honed what we learned on the street, working fast and at high volume, and translated that into our brick and mortar stores,” Peter said.

“Everything is made fresh to order with a lot of love and care.”

Wing Fix is, as the name suggests, best known for its wide range of wings which come in six flavours: Buffalo wings, garlic parmesan, honey soy, crispy fried, Nashville hot and BBQ bourbon.

But that same attention to detail applies to their burgers, of which there are ten varieties to choose from.

“Sometimes I feel like the burgers are overlooked but when customers try them it’s like, ‘Holy crap!’,” Peter said.

“Our Nashville hot fried chicken burger is probably the most popular.

“It’s crispy, spicy and juicy … really everything you’d want a fried chicken burger to be.”

Peter said their burgers had even secured the ultimate seal of approval by American expatriates, who travelled to Wing Fix after hearing word of their delicious offerings.

“They said we made it just like they used to get at home, which is the ultimate compliment,” Peter said.

Wix Fix Coorparoo is located at Coorparoo Square at 300 Old Cleveland Rd and is open from 11.30am to 5.30pm daily.
