What shoppers think of the new Coorparoo Coles Local
The new Coles Local has been officially opened at Coorparoo, 50 years after the grocery chain first opened at the site. We spoke to people on day one about what they think of it.
2/17Julie Constantine said the new store was a long way from the previous layout she had shopped at for 13 years. "I don't like that they got rid of the deli but the car park is very convenient, it's more spacious and well set up. It's almost better than my favourite, Harris Farm.''
3/17Kara said it was excellent and a big improvement on the centre she had visited since she was a child. her partner Mark said he was converted from being a Woolies customer and said a lot of items were cheaper.
4/17Carmen Mitrica said she missed having a deli but said she was very impressed otherwise. "Everything is new and clean,'' she said.
5/17Sophie Spoor said it was "amazing''. "I used to come here a long time ago then switched to the Mt Gravatt Coles but this has made me come back. it's got a good vibe.''
6/17Stephen Casey said it was "buggy friendly'' for shoppers who used wheelchairs. "The prices are dear but there's a lot more range.''
7/17Brian Tidmarsh said it was very big for a small format store. He didn't like the amount of pre-packaged food but said it offered different items to Aldi.
8/17Gerry Giardullo's parents were the first in the door when Coles first opened at Coorparoo 50 years ago. "I've shopped here for years. Woolies is just over the road but they've got everything here.''
