A funeral service will today been held in memory of a ‘vibrant’ 20-year-old motorcyclist, killed in a tragic crash in south Brisbane last month.

Tributes are flowing for Dominos worker James ‘Jimmy’ Maxwell Tokorima Marurai who died when his motorcycle clipped a four-wheel-drive at Sunnybank Hills on September 22.

They have remembered him as a ‘vibrant young man’ who lived life with ‘no regrets’, while his devastated employers yesterday rolled out a fundraising drive for Jimmy’s grieving family.

The 20-year-old, from Sunnybank, had been riding his motorcycle along Calam Rd, on September 22, about 12.30pm, when it hit the side of a Mitsubishi Pajero travelling in the same direction at the intersection near Celadon St.

He died at the scene.

Police have confirmed no charges have been laid and investigations are ongoing.

The driver of the Pajero, a 47-year-old man from Carina, was not hurt.

His father, Jason Marurai, shared a touching tribute online.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and mate/best friend Jimmy; our angel,” he said.

“Jimmy, our angel, we are truly grateful to have known and spent 20 years with you. We have been overwhelmed with all the hearts that you have touched in that time. We know that God has a greater plan for you.”

One of his managers at Sunnybank Dominos, Ash Sayers, said the team would band together to support Jimmy’s family.

“The week before last, we tragically lost one of our cherished Domino’s family members, Jimmy, in a devastating accident in Sunnybank,” he said.

“Jimmy was a vibrant young man, and his passing has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.

“In an effort to support Jimmy’s grieving family during this difficult period, we are pledging to donate $1 from every pizza sold (on October 4) at both Domino’s Calamvale and Sunnybank locations.

“Your contribution will make a meaningful difference in helping Jimmys Family through this trying time.”

Violet May May Fong also launched a GoFundMe page to raise money for her “very best friend” Jimmy.

“I have decided to put up this to raise funds to support and help the family of my best friend Jimmy. This is not really my kinda of thing but I am devastated and sad for the loss of my best friend,” she said.

“Jimmy is only 20 of age and still have a very bright future.

“He had so many dreams that he hasn’t fulfilled but I know he always said to me … ‘no regrets’.

“Recently he was involved in a tragic event that no one could foresee that this will happen to Jimmy … leaving his family and all of his friends grieving their loss.

Friends and family also shared tributes online.

“So sad. rest in peace,” Andrea Ramljak said.

“Rest in forever love Jimmy,” Agnes Estall said.
