TARGET at Westfield Carindale has closed for cleaning after a staff member was confirmed with COVID-19.
A note on the window of the store confirmed the reasons for the closure.
The store statement apologises for the inconvenience stating “our priority is to ensure the safety of our customers and team members.”
A Target spokeswoman said the Carindale store had been temporarily closed as a precaution following the confirmed case, however risk was minimal as the team member had not worked for a number of days before becoming ill.
“We are working closely with the Department of Health and have been advised that there is no risk to our other team members or customers as the team member in question hadn’t worked for a number of days before becoming ill.
“As per our policy to ensure the safety of everyone in our stores, we took the extra precaution of closing the store and undertaking an additional deep clean of the store.”
The Carindale Store will reopen tomorrow.
“We will continue to take every measure we can to ensure the safety of our team and customers,” the spokeswoman said.
A spokeswoman for Westfield Carindale said the centre was otherwise open for normal trading.
