THE LNP candidate for The Gabba ward Sean Jacobs has allegedly been attacked by four men in the early hours of this morning while setting up for the election outside Brisbane State High School.
Mr Jacobs believed the men were drunk and heading home after a night out when they came across the booth about 4am.

“They tried to tear down our signs and they were pushing over bins,” Mr Jacobs said.
“Then they saw my corflutes and went for me, it was pretty hostile, there was a bit of pushing.”
Mr Jacobs said he was with only one LNP volunteer as the four men continued their attack.
“I tried to calm them down, I just didn’t want it to be violent,” he said.
“I tried to hear what they had to say without copping too much verbal or physical assault.”
Mr Jacobs said he called the police but the men left soon after. He said he was not injured by the men.
Greens volunteer Ellene Ariotti was also setting up at the time across the road with a group of volunteers and witnessed the scuffle.
“A few drunk guys thought it was a good opportunity to heckle someone who was setting up at the booth,” Ms Ariotti said.
She said they tried to help Mr Jacobs to no avail.
“We were there saying, ‘back off and leave him’,” she said.
“They were anti-LNP, they didn’t give an indication of who they supported other than not the LNP.”
Ms Ariotti said Mr Jacobs was calm in his response to the men.
“And then he called the police,” she said.
“They left immediately when he said he was calling the police.”
