An iconic restaurant ran by a legendary bayside couple has taken home the title of Wynnum’s best pizza.
Wynnum Pizza and Spare Ribs won the inaugural competition, headed by master chef Matt Preston.
Mr Preston oversaw the competition which drew hundreds of votes for pizza across the country with bayside pizza lovers short-listing eight restaurants.
Sarah Anderson, who owns Wynnum Pizza and Spare Ribs at 4/129 Tingal Rd along with husband Ian, said they were thankful to their loyal customers for their continued support.
“Thank you to the Herald for this pleasant surprise, it is really appreciated,” she said.
“The past year has been difficult for many, however thanks to the wonderful support of our customers we have been very fortunate.
“We have now owned and run Wynnum Pizza for 15 years and have always endeavoured to deliver the best product.
“We have also been blessed to have great staff, family and friends who have supported us on our journey.
“We are very grateful and will continue to do all we can to deliver to our customers their favourite pizza. Thank you.”
