A TEEN allegedly at the centre of a dramatic police car and helicopter chase through southeast Queensland last night has been labelled “out of control” in court.

Police allege Dante Pihema-Adams, 19, was part of a group which broke into a home on Demigre St at Eight Mile Plains around 7.50pm and beat an occupant with a broken golf club.

The attack resulted in the 33-year-old man suffering a minor cut to his eye and nose, a court heard.

The group, which included two 17-year-olds, then allegedly stole the man’s Mitsubishi Lancer which was tracked by police and chased through southwest Brisbane and Logan before the car’s tyres were deflated by police around 11pm.

The car, which was riding on its rims, came to a stop on the Mount Lindesay Highway at Regents Park and police arrested two males.

During the chase, one teen also suffered a minor puncture injury after being arrested by a police dog squad officer in Rundell St, Crestmead.

Other items, including computers, mobile phones and cash were also stolen from the property.

Beenleigh Magistrates Court heard this morning that Pihema-Adams fled on foot before being caught by police.

He appeared via telephone link today, charged with a raft of offences leading up to last night’s incident.

He is facing charges including one count each of enter with intent, armed robbery in company using personal violence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of stealing.

Prosecutors said the charges follow previous alleged offences including possessing dangerous drugs, stealing and having a knife in public.

“This defendant is young but he is out of control,” they said

After pleading guilty to three previous failures to appear in court, Pihema-Adams was refused bail and will remain in custody until his next court date on July 15.

The two 17-year-olds will appear before the Children’s Court.
