IMPROVING his side’s attack will be the main aim for new Wynnum Vikings senior coach David Sloan.
Sloan has taken the reins at the Vikings after joining from Robina, and said his major focus would be implementing a game plan that allowed his side to score more points.
“From what I understand, the team has focused heavily on defence in recent years,” Sloan said.
“I want them to be more attacking and that means taking the game on more and playing through the corridor.”
Sloan said much of the pre-season would be devoted to changing the team’s mindset.
“I expect it could take until halfway through the season to get it right because I think sometimes when players are under pressure, they revert to old habits,” he said.
“So we’ll work hard on that during the pre-season.”
Wynnum Vikings president Brenden Hodgkins said the club was excited to announce Sloan as the new senior coach.
“David brings a wealth of successful experience and we are hoping that under his guidance we can climb up the ladder,” Hodgkins said.
