A warehouse is set to be demolished to make way for a new three-storey, 122-student childcare centre near Bulimba Memorial Park.
If the amended plans are approved, Harmony Early Learning Journey will be opening the new centre in Bulimba in the first quarter of 2022.
The centre will cater for up to 122 children aged birth to five years.
It will be located at 31-35 Godwin St opposite the Bulimba Memorial Park, with operational hours of 6.30am to 6.30pm.
Plans show the proposed rear spaces will have a lightweight open play decks which will be used infrequently for short periods of time.
The proposal provides a 2.4m high fence along the common boundary to mitigate acoustic or visual amenity impacts for the adjoining buildings on Love St.
The centre plans to have separate accessible, safe and clearly visible pedestrian access for carers to drop off and collect children that is provided to the entrance of the building
from the footpath and the carparking area.
The childcare centre will be accessible from Godwin St and makes provision for 24 car
parking spaces.
