Lota police incident: Two in custody after alleged dog bite
Police have charged two people after a dog seizure turned horrific yesterday with an aggressive dog biting a cop and a council officer hospitalised.

UPDATED: Police have confirmed they have pressed charged against two Lota residents, an 18-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, following an incident at a Coolana St address where a police officer was bitten by a dog and a council officer hospitalised.
The 18-year-old woman has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and obstructing police, while the 31-year-old man is understood to have been charged with the same offences.
They will both appear before Wynnum Magistrates Court on April 6 after being served with notices to appear.
EARLIER 10/03: Police say they have taken two people into custody after an aggressive dog allegedly a police officer at an address at Coolana St, Lota.
A spokesman said their initial information suggested police were called to the address after 2pm to assist Brisbane City Council officers seize a dog.
During the seizure, a police officer was bitten by the animal while a council officer was also injured.
The spokesman said the police officer was allegedly bitten on the leg.
The spokesman further alleged there was an attempted assault on the scene.
An earlier version of this story said a council officer was one of the people bitten by the dog, but Brisbane City Council has since confirmed this was not the case.
A QAS representative said they were called to the address at 2.27pm in response to the alleged incident.
Two patients – a man in his 30s with leg injuries, and woman in her 30s with minor injuries –
were taken to Greenslopes Private Hospital in a stable condition.
