Logan teenager faces court over 15 charges in Brisbane’s south

A Logan teenager has faced court in Brisbane today charged with 15 offences including burglary and serious animal cruelty.

A Logan teenager will reappear in court tomorrow charged with more than 15 offences including burglary and serious animal cruelty.

Upper Mt Gravatt Police Station officer in charge Senior Sergeant Murray Crone told the Southern Star officers had arrested the 17-year-old Daisy Hill boy yesterday.

The Upper Mt Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) charged the boy in relation to incidents in the Sunnybank, Coopers Plains and Upper Mt Gravatt areas.

The male was charged with six counts of burglary and commit indictable offence, four counts of enter premise and commit indictable offence, two counts of possess dangerous drug and one count each of fail to take reasonable care with a syringe, obstruct police officer and serious animal cruelty.

Police allege the boy fatally stabbed a pet dog at an Upper Mt Gravatt home which he had broken into.

The homeowner was elderly woman.

Sen Sgt Crone described the incident as a “callous act of cruelty”.

The teen appeared in the Childrens Court in Brisbane today.

Additional charges have been laid following investigations by police in Logan.

The boy has been remanded in custody.
