A BAYSIDE cat rescue is celebrating rehoming 300 kittens, mamma cats and handsome Toms in its first 16 months.
Kitten Kapers Rescue began in December 2013 and this month found a home for its 300th cat, a two-year-old Ragdoll named Roger.
She said the founding members wanted to start a rescue that focused on their home on the bayside.
“It feels great to look back and know the lives of 300 cats and kittens were saved by us,” she said.
Secretary and foster carer Caroline Bearne said the rescue received up to five calls a day asking to take in animals.
“We would love to take those in but we often can’t so they end up at the pound and destroyed,” she said.
“[More foster carers] means more lives saved.”
Ms Rayson said the rescue’s success was due to the foster carers and their engaged Facebook community.
