House collapses in flames in Wynnum

Residents from a street in Brisbane’s bayside have been evacuated after a house collapsed in flames this afternoon.

RESIDENTS from a street in Brisbane’s bayside have been evacuated after a two-storey house collapsed in flames this afternoon.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews arrived at the two-storey house on Seaford St, Wynnum at 4.10pm after receiving reports from local residents.

A QFES spokesman said crews arrived to see the two level structure fully engulfed in flames before it later collapsed.

“Residents from neighbouring properties were evacuated,” the spokesman said.

The spokesman also said four crews attended the scene and the fire was contained by 4.41pm.

Queensland Police and Queensland Ambulance Service crews are also at the scene.

It is unknown whether anyone was inside the property at the time.

Investigations are continuing.
