Developers Sarazin enter proposal for 368 unit across two towers in Woolloongabba

A big-name Australian developer could be taking over the skyline of the inner-Brisbane suburb the 2032 Olympic Games will call home after submitting a proposal for another mega residential complex.
Sarazin, who specialises in apartment developments in Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney, earlier this month sent an application to the Brisbane City Council for the project at 6-8 Wellington Rd, Woolloongabba.
The development, called ‘Nuage’, will feature 368 units across two 20-storey towers along with retail tenancies on the ground floor of each building with a rooftop pool deck also on both towers.
The total cost of the development is not yet known but if approved, Sarazin managing director Darren Dougan said construction would start in 2023 and finish in 2026.
It would also mean the current Scott Metals warehouse at the site of ‘Nuage’, would be demolished as part of construction.
The proposal for the Wellington Rd project comes after Sarazin, along with the Southlake Group, were also behind the $1 billion Silk One and Silk Lane residential buildings on the nearby Stanley St.
Mr Dougan said ‘Nuage’ would be a great addition for Woolloongabba and the community.
“I think it will add striking architecture, landscaped ground plane and streetscape as well as a vibrant retail precinct,” he said.
“I think what sets this development apart from others is the location, its amenities and the views.”
Mr Dougan said they chose Woolloongabba for another project because of the significant infrastructure in the area, including the Cross River Rail, the Gabba Metro Station, the Olympics and the fact it was close to city and transport corridors.
He also said he expected the Olympics to be a massive boost for the project.
