A BRISBANE councillor has urged residents to follow social distancing rules or face more restrictions after the Brisbane City Council closed popular aqua facilities on the bayside yesterday.
After the Wynnum Library had already been closed on Saturday, it was announced yesterday afternoon the Manly Pool, Wynnum Wading Pool and Wynnum Whales Water Park had been closed.
It was part of Council’s decision to close the South Bank Lagoon as well as all aqua areas tomorrow.
ALP Councillor (Wynnum Manly) Peter Cumming said the social distancing rules needed to be abided by and if people failed to comply, he believed council could close down all playgrounds on the foreshore.
