A golf club on Brisbane’s southside is in the middle of a luxury facelift with construction on a $100m mega upgrade, featuring almost 200 apartments and state-of-the-art facilities, in full swing.
The Fairway Carindale development includes extensive upgrades to the Pacific Golf Club, such as a new world-class clubhouse, as well as a luxury 191-apartment retirement village across seven low-rise buildings, to be completed over three stages.
Developed by Reside Communities and GreenFort Capital, stage one started construction in January and is scheduled to be finished in mid-2023.
The project’s anticipated completion is late-2024.
The new clubhouse as well as upgrades to the Par 3 course, a new 18-hole putt putt course and driving range will be the new additions to the club on Pine Mountain Rd as part of the first stage on top of 52 apartments and penthouses for the retirement village.
Reside Communities CEO and director, Glen Brown, said 90 per cent of the apartments and penthouses built for stage one had already been sold.
“The new clubhouse will be 1730 sqm and will bring a new standard of facility to Brisbane golfers,” the spokesman said.
“The development will also provide 240 car parks, an increase of 50 spaces. Approximately 110 golf buggy parks will also be provided.”
Mr Brown said Reside Communities planned, actively consulted and communicated with the community, executives and members of the golf club, about the project since 2017.
“Almost 90 per cent of Pacific Golf Club members have voted in support of the project, and many members have since secured residences within stage one of the retirement community,” he said.
“The Fairway Carindale community will occupy only three per cent of 1.5 hectares of the total 53 hectares owned by Pacific Golf Club and will have no impact on the 18-hole golf course.”
The proposal for the putt putt course, which was approved by the Brisbane City Council, was submitted by the Pacific Golf Club and was designed by Kruse Golf.
