The Wynnum cinemas development on Berrima St, on which construction began in May, is now scheduled to be completed in November 2020, just in time for the Christmas holiday rush.
Justin Ham from Berrima Develop Pty Ltd said the development, which also includes a unit complex and other shops, was ahead of schedule.

“The cranes are set to go in this week and the hole is getting deeper and deeper with some cement also set to roll in this week too,” he said.
“We’ve been fortunate that we’ve had great weather and nothing really holding the works back so far, it’s all coming together really nicely.
“I can say confidently that we should all be ready to go in November next year, the cinemas will be open and the units will be ready.
“A lot of new business wouldn’t normally want to open ahead of a crazy time like school holidays but we think it will work very well and create excitement.”
Mr Ham said around 20 people were on site at the moment but that would grow to close to 150 in the coming months.
“That will be great for local businesses to have that many workers nearby,” he said.
ALP Councillor Peter Cumming (Wynnum Manly) said he thought November was a great time to open.
