A Brisbane man has been charged after a four-month operation uncovered almost 3kg of drugs, including heroin, meth and coke, along with more than $1.2 million in cash at properties across the city.
The operation from the Capalaba Tactical Crime Squad between October last year and this month targeted the supply and distribution of drugs in Brisbane’s bayside, including Wakerley and Gumdale.
Investigations resulted in six search warrants being executed at properties across Brisbane including Everton Park, Murarrie and Wakerley.
Police seized 2.6kg of heroin, 230g of methylamphetamine and 150g of cocaine.
Drug paraphernalia, a small firearm with ammunition and more than $1.2 million dollars was also allegedly found during the bust.
Forty-one-year-old Wakerley man, Todd Keneth Mullen, has since been charged with one count of drug trafficking, six counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts each of supplying dangerous drugs, possessing property obtained from trafficking and one count of possessing property suspected to have been used in a drug offence.
Mr Mullen was also charged with one count each of possessing explosives, possession of something used in a crime and unlawful possession of a weapon.
He was remanded in custody and due to reappear at Cleveland Magistrates Court on April 4.
Capalaba Tactical Crime Squad’s officer in charge, Snr-Sgt Warren Piket, said the investigation highlighted the tenacity of the officers involved.
“The effort of all the officers involved in this lengthy investigation has caused a major disruption to the supply and distribution of dangerous drugs in Brisbane’s bayside,” he said.
“This is a great opportunity also to highlight that any information provided by members of the public can help police with their investigations.
