Police have high hopes of tracing a dopey duo who left a distinctive blue jumper in the house they were allegedly robbing before crashing the car they were stealing in the driveway.
The search for the forgetful pair stepped up a notch after police released comfit images including photos of a blue jumper one of them left behind.
The dimwitted duo had allegedly broken into a house in Lorish Court, Mt Warren Park in the early hours of July 16.
They pinched keys to a white Mazda utility in the driveway and were ready to escape but were distracted by residents, police said.
One jumped out of the car and ran off towards Schweitzer Street.
The other was reversing out of the driveway before pranging into a light pole, just metres away.
He was last seen jumping a fence on to Honeyman Street.
Both are described as caucasian, about 180cm tall with a proportionate build, dark brown hair and brown eyes.
